CIL Funding 2022/23

Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is raised from developers to pay for improvements in the council district where their development is happening. 15% of the amount raised is available for allocation to local infrastructure projects, and in our case is allocated by the Council’s Area Committee 2, on which sit all the Bristol City Councillors for the area.

Outline proposals for projects that could be funded in our area during the 2022/23 municipal year are now invited. Projects must provide some lasting benefit to the area, so cannot be one-off events or something that would require regular funding.

In the past, CIL funding has been put towards playground equipment, road improvements, tree planting etc. Because there is relatively little development in our area, the amount of funding available is small – but a few small proposals may stand a better chance than, say, a costly road improvement.

Find out more on the Funding for Local Projects webpage, or attend one of the online information sessions being held on Thursday 3rd February 2pm-3pm and Thursday 10th February 7pm-8pm.

The deadline for receipt of outline proposals is 4th April 2022.
